A member asked:

How do antifungal creams work? does it starve them and help kill them off?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cell membrane: Most of the topical antifungals work by inhibiting the synthesis of a chemical called ergosterol that fungi need for their cell membranes. I now that vinegar and baking soda also break up the cell walls of fungi and inhibit growth it takes a while to completely eradicate them so that is why it is recommended to use topicals for 2-4 weeks.
