Oral contraceptives: The pill is most effective.Iud's-a device implanted in the uterus-are probably next.Foams, jellies and barriers like condoms are less reliable due to user error.

IUD/BTL/vasectomy.: Best long-acting reversible contraceptive: intrauterine device. Best permanent contraceptive technique: bilateral tubal ligation. If in a monogamous relationship, vasectomy of your partner should also be considered permanent contraception.
