Benadryl, (diphenhydramine)ice, epi: For local reactions Benadryl and ice will help. Tylenol (acetaminophen) would be reasonable for pain. However, if there is a systemic reaction (hives, breathing difficulty, faintness), then Epinephrine (epi-pen and others) should be given im and the patient should go to the er. For patients with systemic reactions venom immunotherapy (desensitization) is strongly recommended.

Varies: A small bump at the site will go away in several hours, and doesn't need to be treated. If it gets larger and warmer and painful over a couple of days, it might be infected - see your physician. If you have symptoms away from the site such as hives, wheezing or dizziness - see an allergist.
