Biologics: Methotrexate, Cyclosporine and biologics such as Enbrel , humira, stelara (ustekinumab) can be used to treat erythrodermic psoriaisis. The skn is red without the typical scales seen in plaque psoriasis. Methotrexate can be used initially and then depending on response transtioned to biologics. It is best to avoid systemic steroids because psoriasis will flare when they are stopped.

Psoriasis: This can be a life threatening condition. Speak with your dermatologist if you have not done so recently. Initial treatment usually includes medium-potency topical steroids and moisturizers combined with wet dressings, oatmeal baths and bed rest. Antibiotics may also be used. It is important to restore and maintain fluids in the body.
