Borna virus: Was named for an outbreak of neurological disease in horses in borna, saxony, germany in 1885. It has caused neurological disease in a number of different animals and appears to spread via respiratory secretions. Borna antibodies have been found in people and some have tried to link the virus to certain neuropsychiatric illnesses in man.
