How is it possible that a girl can get pregnant even before menstruating the first time?

Ovulate first: Cycles start from ovulation (making an egg). A woman ovulates two weeks before her period starts. This is true of the first period too.

Basic science: Menses is a reflection of the breakdown of estrogen stimulated tissue in the womb. This can happen before or after a girl begins to release eggs. If she releases an egg before the first menses, has intercourse & conceives, she will do so before her first menses. The conception stops menses from occuring. It happened to the 13 yo that was my first baby delivery in med school
