Rarely yes.: Most deaths from black widows have been either in the extreme young, old or in individuals with other severe medical issues. If you are bitten, seek medical attention regardless as Antivenin is available if needed.

Fatalities are not: Common. It is rare for a healthy person to die from a black widow spider bite. An infant, elderly person or someone who already is struggling w a serious illness is more likely to have a poor outcome.
