Treat the underlying: Hypothyroidism with synthroid (thyroxine) replacement. Also attention to diet and exercise.

Thyroid replacement : Levothyroxine is the treatment if your lipid abnormality is exclusively the result of hypothyroidism. Once your thyroid function tests are normal, any leftover lipid issues will need to be looked at as separate from your hypothyroidism.
