Several things: A thick white discharge is a classic sign of a yeast infection but not all white discharges are yeast. A thin white discharge may be physiologic (normal). If you have had a yeast infection in the past and have itching and symptoms that make you think it is the same thing, you can treat it with an otc like monostat. If it doesn't improve or you are uncertain what it is see a gynecologist.

Infection: a drastic change in discharge can be due to an infection such as yeast. See your gyn for an evaluation and treatment for it. You can also set up a consult to discuss this further Best Wishes Dr M
