Neuropathy: Walk with shoes, keep feet dry and clean, check your feet daily, sleep with socks, don;t wear tight shoes. Pain: keep in mind the effect of medications lags behind effect (once sugar is controlled, inflamation is gone, the relieve of pain may take months b/c nerves are retarded/take a while to respond. Analogy: earthquake last min, effect of rebuilding take years. Dont change med too quickly.

Home remedies: Home remedies for the pain of diabetic neuropathy can include soaking in cool water, using topical cold packs, breaking up prolonged sitting with walk breaks, rubbing/massaging feet, and desensitization exercises. Over-the-counter zostrix (capsaicin) cream can also provide pain relief when used regularly (some cannot tolerate the cream). You could consider adding a daily b complex vitamin supplement.
