DO NOT DO ANYTHING: Without talking wtih your doctor first! you may need a change, or an augmentation strategy, but you need to be working with your doctor!

Effexor (venlafaxine): It isn't a simple answer. This may have to do with a need to adjust dosage rather than change medications. Also, be careful and stop Effexor (venlafaxine) slowly. It can have painful withdrawal symptoms. What dosage are you taking, and how many times a day?

Effexor (venlafaxine): Actually going to just an ssri would be a step backwards since your medication actually is a combo of ssri and norepinephrine. Better to consider raising dose or adding other agent.
