When you are infected with someone who has aids, do you immediately get aids or hiv first for a few years?

HIV First: You would have HIV first. As the virus attacks the body, the immune system deteriorates and opportunistic infections occur. Once this starts happening, you can be diagnosed with aids. It typically takes several years of being HIV positive to a diagnosis of aids. Medications are lengthening that transition even more.

SEX WITH HIV+ ONCE: Yes you can if you are a female, but chances are less than if you have repeated sex with that person. If you are a man and have sex once with a HIV positive partner the chances are much less than if you are a woman but it is possible for both men and women if you have unprotected sex so if you have to have sex use condom, to protect yourself.

I agree, but this answer assumes that the man is a heterosexual. For men engaging in unprotected receptive anal sex (being on the bottom) with other men, the risk is similar to or higher than the risk for a woman having unprotected vaginal intercourse.
