Yes : Similarity: all three are in the 2nd generation antihistamine class of drugs. Differences: Allegra is not recommended in pregnancy. Zyrtec and Claritin (loratadine) are. Allegra and Claritin (loratadine) do not usually cause drowsiness. Zyrtec typically can. Allegra cannot be taken with reflux meds. The time it takes to be effective vary as well. As far as effectiveness: depends on person.

Most allergists: Would recommend zyrtec and Allegra over claritin (loratadine). Zyrtec makes a few people sleepy, but may be slightly stronger than allegra.
