Possibly: It depends upon the fracture. Most patients are helped with the back pain symptoms by using a brace. Some fractures may not require a brace, but restrictions and limitations for work/exercise may be needed. If you are prescribed a brace for a fracture, make sure you use the brace correctly and follow-up to make sure that healing occurs.

Take it easy: Most spine fractures will heal within 3 months with bracing, limiting strenuous activity and close follow-up with a spine specialist. Some fractures require surgical stabilization and kyphoplasty is an option for elderly patients with compression fractures. Check out spine-health.Com.
