Hemorrhoids are : Normal veins that everyone has unless they have had a hemorrhoidectomy. Anal sex can cause a flare up of the hemorrhoids causing pain and or bleeding as well as infection or tears and trauma to the anal canal. The anus is an exit not an entrance..

No: Sex can irritate existing hemorrhoids, but not cause hemorrhoids. Arousal causes increased blood flow in the genital/anal area. This increased blood flow in the anal area can cause hemorrhoids to flare up. Anal sex can definitely cause irritation of the anal area if there is not enough lubrication. Avoid anal sex when experiencing flare ups.
