See below: Eosinophilic enteropathy represents one member of a family of diseases that includes eosinophilic esophagitis, gastritis, enteritis, and colitis. It is diagnosed by endoscopic biopsies, which reveal ≥20 to 25 eosinophils per high power field. It is thought to be allergic in natureand food allergies may play a role. Diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss are frequent symptoms.

Interesting disorder: Eosinophilic enteropathy (& perhaps a related condition, eosinophilic esophagitis) is an autoimmune condition in which eosinophils (1 of the types of white blood cells, normally used to fend off parasitic infections) start attacking the gastrointestinal tract instead. It is sort of like an allergy (which cause eosinophil release) affecting the small intestines ("enteropathy"). Symptoms r variable.
