Many, such as TTP.: There are many causes for both kidney problems and for jaundice, which appears as yellowing of the eyes. One more rare entity that can cause both is a condition called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, or ttp. Here, jaundice is caused by the destruction of red blood cells, and often occurs with kidney dysfunction. A more severe form is called hemolytic-uremic syndrome.
