Rx for gas not cure: Charcoal is an absorbent. It can decrease gas, but it can cause constipation, black stools, interfere with absorption of meds and nutrients. Good idea is to find out the cause of the flatulence, to make sure there isn't a treatable disorder, e.g. Parasites, celiac sprue, pancreatic disease, ibd, polyps, etc.

See below: Agree with Dr. Heller. You could start by reducing your intake of food. You may also eliminate one or two types of foods at a time to see if one or more types of foods cause more gas. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex, if you have sex.
