Fiber and Life: Fiber has been shown to prevent colon cancer. It has not been shown to improve cancer survival. You would need to eat about 30 to 35 grams of fiber per day to obtain the preventive qualities of the fiber, and you need to do this long-term.

Dietary Fiber: Yes. Most studies point to the positive effects of dietary fiber in decreasing the risk of colorectal cancer, presumably by decreasing the transit time of digestion and binding harmful chemicals.
