Multiple: First, smoking cessation is critical. There are a variety of medications that are very helpful at relieving shortness of breath and preventing flare-ups. Pulmonary rehab programs are very beneficial. Supplementary oxygen is needed if the blood saturation is less than 90% consistently. A healthy and well balanced diet with vitamin supplementation should be used.
