Typically like moles: Polyps can occur anywhere in the colon. Polyps vary in size and shape from flat, pancake-like lesions or on stalks like mushrooms. The polyps may be millimeters is size to centimeters.

Depends: Nasal polyps vs. colon polyps looks vastly different, as well as etiology, appearance, causative factor. Nasal polyp is usually caused by allergic etiology due to swelling of the nasal ostial meatus. Colon polyps on the other hand is a growth within the colon, that may look sessile (flat) or pedunculated (extension), or combination of both.

Like a grape: If the nasal polyp is large enough, it appears as a , whitish, soft mass that looks like a whitish grape.
