A member asked:

What is a clouded cornea and what does it look like?

Decompensation: Corneal decompensation occurs when the corneal endothelial cells stop working properly and the cornea starts to build up fluid. This leads to corneal clouding. This can be secondary to infection, inflammation, trauma, inherited disease, etc. To the naked eye it will look lighter or grey or white colored. Another possibility is scar tissue that can grow over the cornea.

Cloudy cornea: The cornea, normally devoid of vesssels, is clear like saran wrap. However, a cloudy cornea is hazy, like wax paper.
