A member asked:

How are the eyeglasses helping the functioning of your lens?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Compensation: Eyeglasses are made to adjust the light focus onto the retina at the back of the eye. They compensate for whatever the natural focus is by adding or subtracting light bending ability. They are also used to compensate for the hardening of the lens that occurs after age 40 (presbyopia).
