Concern about kidney: Hemolytic uremic syndrome (hus) is a condition that results from the abnormal premature destruction of red blood cells. Blood cells start to clog the filtering system in the kidneys, which may eventually cause the life-threatening kidney failure seen in hus. Most cases of hus develop in children after colon infection due to e.Coli. Adults can also get hus but often the reason is not due to e.Coli.
