Quality of life: You should see a doctor when it is significantly lowering your quality of life. If you would like it treated, then you should see a physician. Also, it may be worth doing some simple urine tests to ensure it is not something more ominous such as infection or cancer.

Worth initial eval: Urge incontinence (ui) can be do to something simple like a uti, a symptom of another medical condition like ms or diabetes or a searate medical condition. It is not a normal part of getting older. New onset ui almost always warrants an initial evaluation. Previously diagnosed ui warrented a re-eval and discussion of treatment options whenever it becomes bothersome or limits daily activities.
