Interferon alfa-2b: Interferon Alpha 2b, made from recombinant dna, used in the treament of several illnesses. A poor name -- an intron is defined to be a portion that is transcribed by messenger RNA but then the corresponding portion of messenger RNA is removed by RNA splicing before translation.
