A member asked:

Will having a transposition of the great arteries affect me later?

It depends: It depends on the type of repair. If you had an arterial switch operation and are fully grown and have not had problems, it is unlikely that you will have any significant problems. If younger, there can be problems with the coronary arteries or with the arteries going to the lungs. With the older types of repairs (sennig and mustard) many problems can occur. You should ask your cardiologist.
