A member asked:

If you had stds in the past are you a high risk pregnancy?

Herpes, yes: If active vulvar herpes lesions occur in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy then vaginal delivery may be contraindicated to avoid transmission to the fetus. If other std's have been appropriately treated and testing is now negative, no risk.

Depends.: Stds are a wide range of infections, some of which can be perinatally transmitted such as hiv, hepatitic viruses, herpes viruses. Depending on what std you are referring to, you may or may not be a high-risk pregnancy at this time.
