Poor excretion: The bilirubin, the end product of old red cell breakdown and the responsible chemical for jaundice, is mostly excreted through bile. This excretion process requires glucuronide conjugation of bilirubin whose maturation is delayed in infants with hypothyroidism. Typically, affected infants experience prolonged physiologic jaundice.

Guessing...: Possibly if one is hypothyroid their gallbladder and digestion may not be working properly and may possibly contribute to jaundice, however i would look for other more serious causes first.
