Pain/pain: Dysmenorrhea is a symptom and endometriosis is a disease. Dysmenorrhea can be caused by a number of conditions including endometriosis, fibroid tumors, adenomyosis--endometriosis may be present without any dysmenorrhea. I just upgraded a woman with stage iv-horrendous endometriosis in an rn who had no symptoms at all-just wanted a baby-i hope this helps.
