Which bone marrow transplant uses the patient's own bone marrow?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Stuart Flechner
45 years experience in Urology
Autologous (self): When the patients own stem cells are used it is termed an autologous (self) bone marrow transplant. Similarly, umbilical cord blood can be collected from a newborn and stored for later use.
