Can excessive vomiting cause bloody stool?

Vomiting and stools: Excessive vomiting can cause bleeding in the esophagus or perhaps in the stomach but that that should not come out as fresh red blood but black tarry stool. Fresh blood with a bowel movement is coming from somewhere else.
