A member asked:

Can i buy glasses frames and go to to the opticians for just lenses?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Glasses -yes: Opticians take an ophthalmologist's prescription and make lenses to fit in your choice of eyeglass frames. In a few jurisdictions they can prescribe and fit contacts but most cannot do this. In many areas they can take a prescription for contacts and apply them to the eye, or sell the lenses based solely on that prescription.
