A member asked:

How long to develop optic atrophy after avulsion of optic nerve?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

It depends: If there is a total avulsion of the optic nerve then the vision is nlp(no light perception) and the atrophy will occur within a few weeks. If the avulsion is partial them the atrophy may be restricted to the fibers that were severed.
