A member asked:

Are stomach bloating and hypoglycemia related?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Probably not related: A person who often feels bloated (in the tummy) is not normal, especially if bloating is new. A doctor can evaluate to look for the cause. Problems can be from constipation or eating things the person cannot digest. Some parasites cause bloating. More serious causes of bloating include a build-up of fluid in the abdomen due to kidney disease, liver problems, heart failure, abdominal cancers, etc..

Many possibilities: High parasympathetic tone will stimulate Insulin release and activate GI system. Excess carbs cause gas and reactive hypoglycemia low sugars stimulate adrenaline secretion via sympathetic nervous system this can interfere with digestion excess alkalinity increases Insulin secretion and decreases ability to digest foods.
