Reset own pacemaker: Assuming query is about cardioversion. There are hierarchies of pacemaker cells in the heart. Fastest one usually takes over. Normal sinus node, then av node or "junction", then purkinje or ventricular pacemakers, in that approximate order. If there is a rhythm disturbance involving a faster abnormal rhythm, an electrical pulse carefully delivered can reset, and allow the fastest normal pacer.
