Can fenugreek help stimulate my milk supply?

Yes: Fenugreek is an herb found in a lot of mediterranean cooking, tastes like licorice. It has been shown, along with other herbs like blessed thistle, to bolster milk production. You can take it as a pill if black licorice isn't your thing, but it also comes in mother's milk tea, which you steep for 10 minutes before drinking. Keeping yourself well hydrated helps too.

Yes: Pros: has been used for centuries; pleasant licorice taste; found in many indian dishes; associated with increased breast milk production. Cons: no good scientific studies showing benefit; usually found with other herbs in lactation-promoting meds, so hard to say what is placebo; may cause diarrhea; may cause you to have a maple syrup smell. Bottom line: safe to try, but don't rely on it.
