Iron chelation: The only medications for iron chelation are Desferal (given intravenously and subcutaneously) or Exjade and Deferiprone (both given orally). Try discussing a switch with your doctor, or see whether taking allergy medications can help.

I have been itchy all over (no rash) for the past month. Recently had iron studies, hepatitis testing etc and all looked normal. My pcp ordered tests for ammonia. I do have NAFLD. Does an ammonia test make sense as something that would cause itching?
I am anemic and take vitamin, iron and fish oil. Can any of these cause a rash? It's very itchy and driving me crazy!
