See a doctor.: Distal weakness that is the result of neural compression due to herniated disc needs evaluation and monitoring by a physician. If it is progressing or interfering with function it may need surgery. However, there are some big caveats here... How do you know that the weakness is not caused by another problem? This is where your physician evaluation is priceless.
