BRAT HOw long!: One can stay on the brat diet for 2-3 days and if the diarrhea is not controlled after that you need to see your doctor asap. It takes the intestines 24-48 hours to heal ideally, if the diarrhea still continues there may be other reasons which need to to be addressed and treated appropriately.
