Time: It isn't usually the first option for pinworms but it is usually effective in killing them. The problem is that your body can continue to react to the dead worms and/or remaining inflammation. It can take about a week (sometimes 2) for the itching to stop. If it hasn't stopped by then and you never actually saw a worm, then it's possible there was another cause.
