Probably: The next generation of completely implantable lvads is not yet clinically widely available, so we don't know for sure yet. There will certainly be less infection from skin organisms transmitted through on the cables. However, there is still the chance that any bacteria that get in the bloodstream could infect the device since it is a foreign body.
