Unclear: Kidney transplant recipients are maintained on immunosuppressive therapy and are increased risk of infections and malignancies. Previous asbestos exposure increases the risk of lung cancer, specifically mesothelioma. It is unclear whether chronic immunosuppressive therapy increases this risk even more but does warrant close followup.
