Week or 2 of otc med: Depending on the site, most ringworm will respond to otc anti-fungals that are applied to the area 2x daily with clearing expected within 2wks. If in the scalp, a dr's visit for confirmation & initiation of oral anti-fungal agent is often necessary because the infection is deep in the hair root, well below the reach of topical agennts.
