What guidelines must i follow for safer sex?

See Below: Safer sex refers to avoidance of behaviors that can lead to the transmission of hiv. The most likely ways to contract HIV are to have unprotected vaginal or anal sex with a partner who is HIV + who is not on adequate treatment. Using a condom during vaginal and anal intercourse is the best way we know of to avoid HIV but it will not necessarily protect against all other stds.

Knowledge is power: Make sure you know the infection status of any partner you have. It is best to have this conversation before considering sexual activity. Always use condoms to protect against transmission of infections, even if using a hormonal contraceptive.
