With treatment, which includes antipsychotic medications, antidepressant medications and psychosocial interventions, patients are able to become contributing members of society. Without treatment they will gradually spiral downward becoming more dependant. They have the highest incidence of suicide: 20-25%.

Schizoaffective: The best word I can think of for this would be management, as opposed to recovery or cure, Symptoms may decrease as time goes by with proper medication monitoring and therapy, but they never go away altogether, for the most part.
