Love & Support: Your loved one needs support and encouragement to let them know that dealing with a mood disorder is tough, but that you are there to love and encourage him. It may be helpful to find some books to read to better understand their disorder. It would also be helpful if you are willing to attend therapy with them, especially if you are a significant other.
