A member asked:

What are the differences, types of medicare coverage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tradtional vs HMO: Tradional medicare is where you have the gov't sponsored plan that pays 80% of your doctor visits. Often a "medi-gap" insurance is needed to cover you for the remaining 20%. Or one can opt into a medicare hmo where you will have various co-payments, and restrictions. Tradional medicare does not require referrals and one is not restricted to a specific insurance network.
