A member asked:

Why would i need a direct burn culture?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drug sensitivity: By "direct burn" culture, i assume you mean a culture that is taken directly from the site of the burn? Usually, you do cultures to determine not only the type of organism causing the infection, but also the type of antibiotic that can be used and at what dose to achieve an effective result. This will optimize your care.
