How does lifestyle affect the development of coronary heart disease?

Numerous ways: It is well known that smoking, obesity, and lack of exercise can contribute to coronary disease, in part through effects on blood pressure and diabetes, and in part via more direct effects on the arteries. Stress can sometimes play a role in this in predisposed individuals.

Multiple factors: Lifestyle can contribute to developing coronary heart disease. Smoking is a big risk factor for developing cad. Inactivity and lack of excercise along with poor eating habits can also contribute. Not adhering to a medication regimen for diabetic or those with high cholesterol or blood pressure further adds to the risk.
